In the creation of the collection Vestiarium Scoticum, Corrie was inspired not only by the book of the same name but also by an adventurous ancestor who emigrated to America from Scotland around the time of the Revolutionary War. The designs and patterns contained within the book were said to describe the official Clan Tartans but it was never clear whether the manuscript was based on fact or fantasy. Corrie plays on these ideas using her signature sculptural forms that take shape in both eveningwear and daywear. Key pieces include a voluminous floor-sweeping cape in midnight blue Duchesse Satin Silk, the Le Cigale oversized skirt in monochrome tartan, a high-neck conical neckerchief blouse in silk grosgrain with lace overlay and a Royal Stewart Kilt with dot and lace overlay.
